Treble Radio: Controversy at Leicester, Villa Relegated, Man City’s European Hopes

April 20th, 2016

Arslan takes some time off to focus on school this week.. Maybe. Well. But, Nick Morales from Last Word on Sport joins us as a guest host.

There was some pretty obvious controversy at King Power with Leicester and West Ham, not to mention endless storylines. Everton and Southampton provided not so many talking points, except managerial. On one side. Chelsea and Manchester City battled for three regular points that mean nothing in the grand scheme of things, except maybe keeping City in fourth.

Sam Allardyce is the stand out American hero of the weekend as Sunderland start to crawl out of the bottom. Arsenal surprised no one by giving Crystal Palace another point.

Aston Villa is officially relegated and none of the players really care. Big surprise.

We preview Vardy-less Leicester against Swansea, the Merseyside Derby, and Liverpool and Newcastle.

Treble Radio: Post International Break, Match Reviews & Rooney

March 31st, 2016

The lads are back from the international break and ready to rumble.

The Americans were still livid after their national team left them frustrated. Jurgen Klinsmann seems to have killed all of America's soccer buzz.

The crew went on to talk about the English national team's encouraging display in their games against Germany and Netherlands. Is Wayne Rooney going to be dropped and not taken to the Euros? Is he an obvious candidate? Why SHOULD Hodgson pick him as one of his 23 players?

Eric says there is no need for Rooney in the squad as England should move on from their failed past. Listen to the debate.

Eventually, they previewed games.

To get geared up for the Premier League weekend (Liverpool/Spurs, Leicester/Saints, United/Everton) and have a great time, Tune in to Treble Radio. Tweet your thoughts @TrebleRadio

Treble Radio: Capital One Cup Final Preview, Plus Arsenal vs United and UCL

February 25th, 2016

It seems like there aren't many Premier League stories this week. Which is odd, because the FA Cup happened this weekend. Maybe Manuel Pellegrini had more impact on that feeling that we'd like to think.

Arsenal started their routine of being knocked out of the Champions League with a 2-0 loss to Barcelona. Are they choking?

Chelsea destroyed a team of Manchester City kids. What does that mean for Gus Hiddink? What does it say about City under Pellegrini?

Speaking of being destroyed, Aston Villa were destroyed by their own u21 side over the weekend. How does that even happen? What does that say about the future for Villa?

Liverpool have a chance at a trophy this upcoming weekend against Man City. Will Pellegrini take this seriously or not?

The big game of the weekend has to be Arsenal at Manchester United. Just how many problems do United have to solve? Will Arsenal start their run for the title at Old Trafford?

Listen and weigh in. Tweet us @TrebleRadio

Treble Radio: Arsenal vs City, England’s Euro 2016 Hopes, and the Premier League

December 17th, 2015

The Force is strong with this one. Sort of. Maybe?

Our predictions are getting back on track this week and points that have no meaning are handed out to our winners. Southampton  lost to Palace, which only Arslan didn't see coming. West Ham and Stoke played a glorious nil-nil draw with the Hammers impressing without Payet. Leicester defeated Chelsea in a manner akin to Luke Skywalker's perfect shot to take down the Death Star.

Bournemouth continued their amazing run by taking down a lackluster Manchester United. Spurs lost. Tottenham have been defeated and not by an own goal, by Newcastle.

Last Word on Sports' Hugo Jennings joins us  to discuss if Mourinho will strike back or be sacked, England at the Euros, and helps us preview the match up between Arsenal and Manchester City.

Our predictions continue to Everton and Leicester. Is Vardez (no, that's not a typo) strong enough to go against Everton's back line? Can Crystal Palace win on a cold night in Stoke? Have Newcastle actually turned things around? Have they found the balance in the Force? Villa surely haven't.

Treble Radio: Bournemouth Beat Chelsea and Stoke Thrash Man City

December 9th, 2015

It's our 1 year anniversary as a podcast! Happy Birthday to us!

It seems our predictions have no been exactly on point lately, but we're having enough fun without accurate numbers. This week we back a somehow forgot feature, the flop of the match.
West Ham and United played to a 0-0 draw, shocking. There are problems to fix with United, but what are they? What could help?
The Chelsea-Bournemouth game "slipped" from our radar last week, but it was so great we have to talk about it. Can Chelsea still make a top four bid?
Arsenal played Sunderland and ran circles around Yedlin. Giroud more than made up for a mistake. Will Arsenal be okay with their injuries?
Liverpool lost to Newcastle. What went wrong for LFC? Is this the win Newcastle needed?
Stoke thrashed Manchester City at home in a convincing display. How consistent are City? Can Stoke continue to win?
Aston Villa are gunning for a title. The title of worst premier league season. How has this happened? What is Remi Garde doing?
How great are Watford? Will their duo up top draw attention from buyers?
How long does Gary Monk have at Swansea? What needs to be done? We've seen the talent they have, but something is wrong there. Who would replace Monk if he were to be sacked?
All of this and more on a very special one year anniversary episode of Treble Radio.

GT4ABL #88: Formation fads, footballing confessions, and a Leicester lovin

November 23rd, 2015

In this weeks podcast we discuss the latest footballing fad the ‘Liverpool Tottenham high pressing game’. Craig takes a trip to the confession booth and a stat from the Bundesliga that will BLOW YOUR MIND. All this plus our usual  array of features plus news on a dominos pizza emergency button. Football nonsense at its finest.

Treble Radio: Chelsea’s Problems and Vardy’s Goals

November 12th, 2015

This premier league weekend had storylines for days. Can Joe Mourinho feel the Earth beneath his feet? He was missing from the Stoke City match but we all know he'd rather not talk about his defeat and humiliation with the press anyway. We talked about this last week, but there continue to be issues for Chelsea.
Leicester won again. Vardy scored again. This time, they didn't even go 2-0 down first. Is this progress for the Foxes? How good is Jamie Vardy?
Brad Guzan's face saved the day for Remi Garde and Villa as they earned a point against league leaders Manchester City.  Are all hopes of City winning the league crushed due to injuries?
Newcastle stole points off a very deserving Bournemouth team, despite their own injury struggles.
How alone is Jurgen Klopp? Palace showed up and took all three points as Liverpool fans deserted their seats.
The North London Derby ended in a draw. Is Ozil Arsenal's problem? Spurs seemed dominate but were unable to walk away with all three points somehow.
We also tackle a little Manchester City/MLS news with Patrick Viera moving to New York City FC. Mistake or brilliance?
This week is international break, and instead of being silly and trying to predict games two weeks in advance, we'll have another show next week for previews.

GT4ABL #86: The next big technological advances in football uncovered!!

November 10th, 2015
The show starts this week with a nod to the nice guys. As Ronaldo emerged as the most "liked" footballer on Facebook following the release of his film, the boys pick out and discuss the game's real good eggs.

Next, Allcott revels in Chelsea's woes in roundup of the weekend, whilst Irwin hits back, defends Chelsea, and promises a backlash from the boys in blue.

Ever thought of something that would make the game better for you? "Footballing inventions" was next up on the show with a brainstorm of (now patented) gadgets that will revolutionise the game. A machine that holds your drink when you celebrate and decision making robots are coming soon to a stadium near you.

Craig's question talks about favourite types of goal, whilst offside touches on banned substances and something we never want to see in the game, mashed potato.

All this, Irwin ranting on pet hates, and much more on this week's GT4ABL. Follow us on Twitter for more content.
