On this episode of Soccer 2 the MAX, Sean Garmer, Erik Watkins and Rachael McKriger discuss what the 2026 joint FIFA World Cup bid means, did Mexico and Canada get ripped off by the United States? The trio also go through Week 7 in Major League Soccer. Talking the highs of David Villa‘s 50 yard strike to aid NYCFC in a win, to FC Dallas giving up a win in the closing seconds. Not to mention, everything else in-between as well.

What's up America? Enough election talk, time to talk about the start of the CONCACAF Hexagonal. This week on Last Word SC Radio, Matt Pollard and Joe Hojnacki are joined by John Bava.
In segment one, the boys sit down and talk about the Eastern Conference Playoff results. We discuss what the Montreal Impact and Toronto FC are doing so well. We break down what went wrong for the New York Red Bulls and New York City FC. The guys discuss what both New York teams need to change in the off season. Spoiler alert: The Red Bulls are in good shape the NYCFC needs some roster massages (defense especially).
In segment two, the guys do the same thing for the Western Conference. We talk about the Seattle Sounders rolling over FC Dallas and why Dallas is going to be just fine. We discuss (breifly) the not exciting LA Galaxy series with the Colorado Rapids. The guys spit ball ideas on what could change for LA in the off season. Matt's got a bunch of ideas (hint: Bastian Schweinsteiger), but there's a lot of uncertainty in Carson, CA right now.
In the Round Table, Matt and Joe question John on what the off season looks like for Columbus Crew. Then the guys dive fully into USA vs. Mexico. We discuss the current state of the U.S. Men's National Team roster and their players. They guys discuss formation and style of play. Lastly, we do predictions.

Greetings fellow hoot owls! This week on Last Word SC Radio, Matt Pollard and Joe Hojnacki have a Last Word SC #AfterDark episode. We talk about CONCACAF, Bob Bradley's new resume booster, and MLS playoff madness.
First off, the lads talk about CONCACAF's plan to get their stuff together. We're talking a potential renaming (does anyone really remember what CONCACAF stands for anyways?), as well as a changing of the World Cup and CCL format. Matt and Joe discuss the pros and cons. They spitball some ideas for how they could change things up. CCL group stage with four teams each? Having the entire tournament in the same calendar year? Plus, who knows how WCQ could change. Especially if FIFA decides to expand the World Cup beyond 32 teams.
Then the guys discuss Bob Bradley getting his Swan on. If you haven't heard, Bradley is the new coach at Swansea City. The guys discuss how huge this is for American Soccer and why they think he will succeed there. Most importantly, just don't get relegated. This is a YUGE change for American Soccer to show England and Europe that their players and coaches are undervalued. Go get 'em Bob.
Lastly, the boys review the USMNT friendlies, midweek MLS matches, and talk about the MLS Cup Playoff Wildcard race.
This episode is crazy, just like MLS and CONCACAF.

It's our two year anniversary! Our first ever podcast was on August 23, 2014. Somebody get us a toddler safe piece of cake!
On this episode of Last Word SC Radio, Matt sits down with two guests to talk about underdog uprisings in Major League Soccer. In segment one, we have Guillermo Rivera of Fire Confidential on to talk all things Chicago Fire. They talk about the relief of getting a road win and the direction the club is going for the future. Guillermo promptly squashes Matt's hype train of #FireMakeThePlayoffs2016. They do talk about youth development and possible DP signings. Bastian Schweinsteiger as a box-to-box midfielder?
In segment two, Matt brings back an old friend and former co-host, Roger Cleaves. Matt and Rog break down what's been cooking up in Seattle and how Nicholas Lodero has revolutionized the Sounders. They boys talk Cascadia and Ozzie Alonso being a bull in a China Shop. Lastly, Rog gives his take on what the Sounders must do to make the playoffs.
In the Round Table, Matt goes solo to talk about Hope Solo and Richard Chaplow getting suspended for saying bad things.
This episode is jammed packed with good stuff. Enjoy it with some Friday Tacos while you troll your Montreal Impact fan coworker about their loss to Chicago at home.

On this week's episode of Last Word SC, Matt sits down with or colleague and good friend Joe Goldstein. The guys discuss last weekend's New York Red Bulls II match in which Video Assistant Referees (VAR) was used for the first time in USL! Joe gives his take on the technology, how it changed the game, and how it was received. The guys spitball some ideas for how the technology could be altered and implemented league wide from USL to MLS.
In the round table Matt and Joe celebrate MLS Goalkeeper Week by breaking down the current race for Goalkeeper of the Year. Matt even gives his theory about the good vibes voodoo Andre Blake must be getting from Usain Bolt that has him playing on such a high level.
The guys break down the standings and talk about who they think is going to make the playoffs in each conference. To close out the show, we do predictions for the full weekend of MLS games.
Don't share this podcast with your D.C. United friend cause Joe makes fun of them. Or do share this podcast with your D.C. United friend just because Joe makes fun of them.

On this week's episode of Last Word SC, Matt Pollard sits down with our very own Philadelphia Union beat writer, Matt McCarthy. The Matts talk all things Alejandro Bedoya: why he came back, why the Union are the perfect fit, and how he's the No. 8 the Union's 4-2-3-1 needs. They also discuss a few of the other trades Philly has made, the youth movement, and Matt M. waxes poetic about Earnie "The Orchestrater" Stewart.
In the second segment Matt is joined by Steve Brisendine of MLSSoccer.com to talk about Sporting KC getting back into their groove. Steve shares some thoughts from Benny Feilhaber about how the club has turned things around and used their depth. We get an update on Matt Besler's recovery and the nonsense that is the Dom Dwyer to Greece rumor. Steve then gives his take on SKC's tough CCL draw and what it will take for them to advance and still make the MLS Cup playoffs.
In the round table, Matt goes solo asking the question "is D.C. United going to be fun now?" Matt also gives a little preview of the Olympics and why he's a little burned out from this Super Summer of Soccer.
This is a jam packed show. Share it with your friend from Philly, then go stuff your face with a Philly Cheese steak. Or some burnt ends from Oklahoma Joe's. Or whatever new fad diet those nonexistent LAFC fans have come up with in the last 5 minutes.
