First the guys recap the MLS Game of the Year candidates from this past weekend. We talk Portland Timbers and FC Dallas playing to a 2-2 draw. Then we talk the epic comeback by the Seattle Sounders to draw the New England Revolution.
In the Round Table, we throw out a few ideas for what US Soccer could do with the apparent $100 million surplace they've got. We finish off with a full weekend Pick 'Em.

Greetings plebs of the internet! This week on Last Word SC Radio, we go full retro with some MLS history.
In the first segment, we're joined by Kris Landis of Massive Report. Kris stops in to talk about the history of the Trillium Cup. The guys talk about its tin cup origins and a bet between the mayors of the cities. Kris talks about the evolution of the rivalry and it's kind of crazy origins with the fans. We talk about the significance of 2011 and how the rivalry and competition is coming to a head this season. Lastly, Kris gives a prediction on who'll win the cup in 2017.
Then Joe Hojnacki joins to the pod to talk about the expansion plays for Providence Park. The guys talk about what this means for the Timbers and how it could be a model for other MLS clubs in the future. Then the guys open the can of worms that is the MLS Player's Union releaseing salaries for the leagues. They take a few stabs at high value and dead weight contracts. We finish up predicting the full slate of MLS games.

This week on Last Word SC Radio, we speak with Daniel Sperry about the U.S. Soccer National Training Center and Harrison Hamm about the Houston Dynamo.
In the first segment Matt Pollard is joined by Dan to talk about his tour of the National Training Center in Kansas City. Dan talks about what he learned on the tour about the facility and the plans for it. The guys discuss the new 'super fields' as well as the indoor amenities to the training facility. Dan gives some details on the coaching education plans for the project. This is extremely exciting for Sporting Kansas City and American Soccer.
Then Harrison joins the crew to talk about the Houston Dynamo. The guys discuss the new look attack and Wilmer Cabrera's coaching system. Harrison complements Alex and the rest of the midfield and gives some ideas as to why this isn't the same team as last year. The guys do discuss some concerns about the defense for the Dynamo.
In the Round Table, Matt and Joe Hojnacki discuss the MLS teams participating in CONCACAF Champions League. FC Dallas has a chance but it doesn't look great for the Vancouver Whitecaps. They discuss the Disciplinary Committee and MLS being ant-twitter fun. Lastly, the guys talk U.S. National Team roster and do weekend pick 'ems.

It's here, it's finally here! The 2017 MLS season is upon us fam! Matt Pollard, Joe Hojnacki, and John Bava are here to break it all down.
In the first segment, the guys do a full playoff prediction. We pick who we think is going to make the playoffs and who won't. We talk about why our non-playoff teams will miss out. The guys also give their playoff seeding predicitions. Spoiler alert, FC Dallas and Toronto FC might roll.
In the second segment, the guys talk trophies and individual awards. We talk about the current CONCACAF Champions League taking place. We then pick our Supporter's Shield, U.S. Open Cup, and MLS Cup champions. Then the guys roll through individual awards.
In the Round Table, we make absolute fools of ourselves. We pick serious upsets for the U.S. Open Cup. Matt has Cozmo driving a taco truck around the StubHub Center. Joe has Wayne Rooney coming to MLS in the summer and killing it. And John's got a bold personnel prediction.

What's up internet? This week was all crazy with MLS Expansion Bids all over the place. That's exactly what we're talking about this we're talking about on this episode of Last Word SC Radio. Matt Pollard is joined by Daniel Sperry to break everything down. Let's get to it.
First Evan Ream joins us to talk about the drama going down in Sacramento. Apparently there was a split between one side of the ownership group and the side directly running Sacramento Republic FC. Evan gives the accounts from both sides and weighs in on whether this is a miscommunication or an open war/negociation through the public. We talk about the fan reactions and #NoRepublicNoParty. Evan gives a few ideas as to how this cound play out. Still, outlook hazy.
In segment two, or very own Roy Emanuel makes his podcasting debut. We talk about the Phoenix Rising rebrand and Arizona as a soccer market. Roy gives his take on the cities chances and the guys go back and forth on a very interesting soccer specific stadium situation.
Then Josh Beeman joins us from Indomitable City Soccer to give another view point on the Sacramento situation. We talk about about the bid and the stadium situation. Josh talks about the moves Republic have made in the off-season and how they're shaping up for the 2017 USL season. Oh, and he predicts that the Tulsa Roughnecks are going to be worse than FC Montreal, and they don't even exist anymore.
In the Round Table, Matt and Dan do a full breakdown of all 12 MLS Expansion bids. We talk about who the front runners are and what the stadium situation is. Dan does a full break down of the market size. The two discuss market saturation and potential rivals. Oh, and we briefly talk about the USMNT friendly.

We're joined by our staff writer Blayne Riffle and his colleages at MLS Fantasy Boss. Then Michael Anderer from Blue City Radio stops in to talk about NYCFC's preseason. Then it's a bunch of news in the Round Table.
In segment one, Matt Pollard and Blaye are joined by Reid Connelly and Michael Denton. The guys do a full break down of MLS Fantasy 2017. We talk about how we thought the 2016 season went and preview what we're looking for in 2017. Reid talks about the scheduling and how it won't be as strenuous on fantasy owners. Blayne gives some ideas on player value tracking. Mike talks about his MLS Injury News insider knowledge. The guys also give a few predictions on teams and players to watch for in Fantasy.
In segment two, Mike Anderer from Blue City Radio joins Matt and Joe Hojnacki. They boys talk about NYCFC's off-season. In the Round Table, Matt and Joe touch on a few MLS news items. Freddy Adu is on trial with the Portland Timbers. FC Dallas might finally have the South American forward they've been looking for. Minnesota United traded for Kevin Molino. Lastly, the guys talk about the USMNT taking on Serbia this weekend. We talk roster, formation, and what to look for from which players.

NYCFC released the roster of players attending pre-season training in Jacksonville, FL. Two players not on the list, Mix Diskerud and Josh Saunders. Both players who are very much foundational pieces of the club's history were unceremoniously not invited to the team's training camp.
Jon and Mike talk about the rest of the roster including NYCFC Academy player James Sands, the first academy player to attend a first team camp.
In the second segment, Chris Magalee from NYCFC Nation joins the show to continue the conversation.

Happy Inauguration Week (kind of?) fam. This week on Last Word SC, Matt Pollard is joined by Joe Hojnacki and Joe Goldstein.
In the first segment, Matt and Joe Goldstein discuss all things New York Red Bulls. Matt and Joe discuss the trade of Dax McCarty to the Chicago Fire. They talk about the timing of the move, who could step in for him, and what RBNY could do with the money.
Then Joe Hojnacki joins the desk and we talk about all things MLS SuperDraft. They guys review the highlights of the draft and talk about what the teams they cover did in the draft.
In the Round Table, we talk about the Chargers moving to LA and playing at the StubHub Center. The guys try and play the positive side of the story. Matt rants about how the Chargers didn't have any other options playing in LA. The guys do the schedule math to show the Galaxy and Chargers can be roommates without football lines on the Galaxy's pitch.
Then the guys talk about the USL AND the NASL getting Provisional Division II status and how it isn't really resolving any issues. Lastly, the guys go back and forth on FIFA going to a 48 team World Cup and how it affects CONCACAF.
