We start with Dan breaking down his experience attending and covering the U.S. Open Cup Final. We talk about the game and what went down tactically. We also talk about how this was icing on the cake for the Sporting KC core and how they've got a new core growing into the system.
In segment two, the Matts have some hot takes on the NASL's anti-trust lawsuit against the USSF and MLS. We talk about the standards for Division I and II in America. The guys go over the NASL's ignominious history and how we got here. We discuss what could go down and whether or not the NASL has an argument. The guys finish off talking about what this could mean for the pyramid and American Soccer in the long term.
In the Round Table, Matt Pollard, Dan, and Robert talk about a bunch of different news topics. We finish off with some Nationa TV game Pick 'Ems for the weekend.

What's up Internet? Today on Last Word SC Radio, we're talking everything Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup Final 2017. Here's everything you need to know going into Wednesday night's final.
Matt and Dan sit down to talk about Sporting KC and New York Red Bulls are going to do in the match. We talk about how the Head Coaches approached their weekend matches and why we'll see first choice Staring XIs on Wednesday. We discuss the tactics of the game and why this final will be more about execution than wrinkles or one side trying to out-fox the other. The guys also discuss legacy: one team is looking to add to theirs while the other is looking for a referendum on previous failures.
We finish off making predictions and telling you how you can follow the action all night long.

It's here, it's finally here! The 2017 MLS season is upon us fam! Matt Pollard, Joe Hojnacki, and John Bava are here to break it all down.
In the first segment, the guys do a full playoff prediction. We pick who we think is going to make the playoffs and who won't. We talk about why our non-playoff teams will miss out. The guys also give their playoff seeding predicitions. Spoiler alert, FC Dallas and Toronto FC might roll.
In the second segment, the guys talk trophies and individual awards. We talk about the current CONCACAF Champions League taking place. We then pick our Supporter's Shield, U.S. Open Cup, and MLS Cup champions. Then the guys roll through individual awards.
In the Round Table, we make absolute fools of ourselves. We pick serious upsets for the U.S. Open Cup. Matt has Cozmo driving a taco truck around the StubHub Center. Joe has Wayne Rooney coming to MLS in the summer and killing it. And John's got a bold personnel prediction.

New York Red Bulls Round Table Season Preview 2017
The Last Word On NYRB team sat down to discuss the 2017 MLS season ahead for the original New York team. Heading into '17, the Red Bulls were in a familiar state of change. That left plenty of questions about the team and roster heading into the opening game against Atlanta United (Sunday, 7:30pm, FS1).

This week, the guys talk about actual games! Preseason is in full gear, and RBII are reaping the rewards of the senior team's participation in CCL. Then Austin Fido joins us for a discussion about covering the team. Next, the players from the USL Champions who have graduated to the senior team, share their thoughts heading into the season from media day. We finish up discussing the important pieces leaving RBII and some of the players coming in to ease the burden.

To open, it’s all Designated Players. Freddy Montero is back in MLS, heading to the Vancouver Whitecaps. The guys talk about the move, what it means for Cascadia, and we review some salty Brad Evans tweets. Our good friend Nic Hendrickson shares his views on Montero joining and how he’ll work with Kekuta Manneh.
The boys then talk about NYCFC’s new No. 10 Maxi Moralez. We talk about his role, NYCFC’s system, and what this means for Tommy MacNamara.
In the second segment, we’re talk about more news! Ali Curtis and the New York Red Bulls have agreed to part ways. We talk about how this could have gone down, why it went down, and if there’s more to this for the Red Bulls. Matt puts on his tinfoil hat and talks about this indicating a bigger issue with ownership. Either way, we’re waiting for the tell-all book. Matt and Joe then talk about D.C. United beautiful new stadium and Clint Dempsey returning to training.
In the Round Table, it’s all MLS Jersey talk. We go through every jersey releases do far. We talk about the design and what we think. Spoiler: Matt’s a little underwhelmed by the LA Galaxy #OutOfTheBlue kit and Joe thinks that the Timbers new kit is SO PORTLAND TIMBERS.

Happy Holidays American Soccer Fam! This week on Last Word SC Radio, Matt Pollard sits down with Joe Goldstein and Daniel Sperry.
In the first block, Matt and Joe sit down and pick Christmas presents for the entire Eastern Conference. We pick things for Atlanta United FC and the existing EC MLS teams. Joe gives a few player ideas for a few teams. Matt picks Ethan Finlay and CJ Sapong to improve. Joe tries to not give New York City FC a baseball stadium filled with coal and gives a few ideas for what the New York Red Bulls need.
In the second segment, Dan and Matt sit down and do the same thing for the Western Conference. We talk about how Minnesota United FC have a lot of leg work to do building their roster. Dan goes on an epic rant about the San Jose Earthquakes and Sporting KC. Matt talks about the LA Galaxy needing to fully embrace the youth movement. Spoiler altert, we're sending Seattle Sounders a bionic heart for Clint Dempsey.

What's up America? Enough election talk, time to talk about the start of the CONCACAF Hexagonal. This week on Last Word SC Radio, Matt Pollard and Joe Hojnacki are joined by John Bava.
In segment one, the boys sit down and talk about the Eastern Conference Playoff results. We discuss what the Montreal Impact and Toronto FC are doing so well. We break down what went wrong for the New York Red Bulls and New York City FC. The guys discuss what both New York teams need to change in the off season. Spoiler alert: The Red Bulls are in good shape the NYCFC needs some roster massages (defense especially).
In segment two, the guys do the same thing for the Western Conference. We talk about the Seattle Sounders rolling over FC Dallas and why Dallas is going to be just fine. We discuss (breifly) the not exciting LA Galaxy series with the Colorado Rapids. The guys spit ball ideas on what could change for LA in the off season. Matt's got a bunch of ideas (hint: Bastian Schweinsteiger), but there's a lot of uncertainty in Carson, CA right now.
In the Round Table, Matt and Joe question John on what the off season looks like for Columbus Crew. Then the guys dive fully into USA vs. Mexico. We discuss the current state of the U.S. Men's National Team roster and their players. They guys discuss formation and style of play. Lastly, we do predictions.
