On this episode of Soccer 2 the MAX, Sean Garmer, Erik Watkins and Rachael McKriger discuss the final Tournament of Nations game for the U.S. Women's National Team. A 3-0 win over Japan, which wasn't as easy as it looked. Who stood out? Did anyone's stock rise or fall going forward for the national team? Why does Rachael still have a bone to pick with Jill Ellis?
After that, Rachael heads out, and the boys stick around to discuss the MLS All-Star game. What did we think of the festivities, the game, and is it a big deal that MLS took Real Madrid to penalties?
Finally, the guys discuss some MLS transfer news, and have a conversation on Promotion and Relegation in U.S. Soccer.

On this episode of Soccer 2 the MAX, Sean Garmer, Erik Watkins and Rachael McKriger are a bit more jovial than usual. Especially, since the U.S. Women's National team came back from 3-1 down and in nine minutes recovered to beat Brazil 4-3.
However, it wasn't all roses for USWNT. Rachael explains and has a few choice words for Jill Ellis' tactics before that fated nine minute stretch. Who stood out? Who needs to be starting? We discuss that and more.
After that, Rachael bids us adieu, as Erik and Sean talk MLS Week 21. How was Dom Dwyer's debut for Orlando City? Should Kaka still play 90 minutes? Do we make anything of the domination by Toronto FC and the Vancouver Whitecaps? There's also transfer news, and Curt Onalfo puts out a statement too.
Finally, the guys examine the presentation given on VAR by Howard Webb. Are the guys excited about VAR coming into the league? And is everything understandable, compared to how it was done in the Confederations Cup? Trust us, it is.

It's our two year anniversary! Our first ever podcast was on August 23, 2014. Somebody get us a toddler safe piece of cake!
On this episode of Last Word SC Radio, Matt sits down with two guests to talk about underdog uprisings in Major League Soccer. In segment one, we have Guillermo Rivera of Fire Confidential on to talk all things Chicago Fire. They talk about the relief of getting a road win and the direction the club is going for the future. Guillermo promptly squashes Matt's hype train of #FireMakeThePlayoffs2016. They do talk about youth development and possible DP signings. Bastian Schweinsteiger as a box-to-box midfielder?
In segment two, Matt brings back an old friend and former co-host, Roger Cleaves. Matt and Rog break down what's been cooking up in Seattle and how Nicholas Lodero has revolutionized the Sounders. They boys talk Cascadia and Ozzie Alonso being a bull in a China Shop. Lastly, Rog gives his take on what the Sounders must do to make the playoffs.
In the Round Table, Matt goes solo to talk about Hope Solo and Richard Chaplow getting suspended for saying bad things.
This episode is jammed packed with good stuff. Enjoy it with some Friday Tacos while you troll your Montreal Impact fan coworker about their loss to Chicago at home.

On this episode of Last Word SC Matt and Joe break down the shock that was the USWNT losing in the opening knock out round of the Olympics. We lament the loss, but try to make sense of why expectations were a wee bit overblown for our American Ladies.
Then the boys talk about U.S. Open Cup drama and Matt admits that the refs were totally biased in last weekend's game between LA and RBNY.
Joe gives us an update on the CCL Group stage and how the Portland Timbers are going to navigate their schedule. The boys also break down Group C (the one with Sporting KC AND Vancouver Whitecaps).
Lastly, Matt and Joe come up with some creative ideas to improve officiating in American Soccer and do predictions for the weekend matches.
Share this show with your Euro Snob friend when he complains about how terrible EPL refs are.

On this week's episode of Last Word SC, Matt Pollard sits down with our very own Philadelphia Union beat writer, Matt McCarthy. The Matts talk all things Alejandro Bedoya: why he came back, why the Union are the perfect fit, and how he's the No. 8 the Union's 4-2-3-1 needs. They also discuss a few of the other trades Philly has made, the youth movement, and Matt M. waxes poetic about Earnie "The Orchestrater" Stewart.
In the second segment Matt is joined by Steve Brisendine of MLSSoccer.com to talk about Sporting KC getting back into their groove. Steve shares some thoughts from Benny Feilhaber about how the club has turned things around and used their depth. We get an update on Matt Besler's recovery and the nonsense that is the Dom Dwyer to Greece rumor. Steve then gives his take on SKC's tough CCL draw and what it will take for them to advance and still make the MLS Cup playoffs.
In the round table, Matt goes solo asking the question "is D.C. United going to be fun now?" Matt also gives a little preview of the Olympics and why he's a little burned out from this Super Summer of Soccer.
This is a jam packed show. Share it with your friend from Philly, then go stuff your face with a Philly Cheese steak. Or some burnt ends from Oklahoma Joe's. Or whatever new fad diet those nonexistent LAFC fans have come up with in the last 5 minutes.
