NYCFC announced the departure of six players from the club bringing the 2016 post-season number to nine. Two of the players were NYCFC originals, Tony Taylor and Jason Hernandez. Mike and Jon discuss the roster moves and look ahead at a younger team in 2017.
In the middle segment, JJ Devaney from the ESPN Podcast, Caught Offside, joins the show. Together the guys talk about MLS Cup Playoffs, NYCFC, USMNT and the pending demise of the NASL and NY Cosmos.

First off, Matt and the boys talk about the Seattle Sounders defeating the Colorado Rapids. We talk about what Seattle has going for them going into the final and what the Rapids need to change and keep in 2017.
Then Matt and Joe ask Blayne about the Montreal Impact's second leg match against Toronto FC. We talk about what the two sides did well and what will change in the second leg. They discuss Toronto's three man back line and the Impact's counter attack. The boys end by making predictions for the match.
Lastly, we discuss the New York Cosmos and their financial issues. We talk about what this means and if this is the NASL as we know it. We also discuss how this affects the USL, the American Soccer landscape, and MLS Expansion.

NYCFC has lost three players already this offseason. Andoni Iraola and Mehdi Ballouchy announced their retirement from professional soccer. Mike and Jon discuss the implications of the turnover.
In the second segment, the guys talk about the news of the week as Thomas Rongen from BEIN Sports calls in to talk about US Soccer firing Jurgen Klinsmann.
The show wraps with a conversation about the MLS Conference Finals that started with the firs legs last night.

Ding dong, the Witch is dead! Hey fam, this is Last Word SC Radio coming at you with a mid-week pod special. Today, Matt Pollard, Joe Hojnacki, and Dan Sperry break down the firing of Jurgen Klinsmann.
We talk about what did Klinsmann in and what went into the decision. The guys discuss what this means for Sunil Gulati's future and legacy with the U.S. Soccer Federation. We discuss what's gone wrong for the U.S. Men's National Team under Klinsmann and what needs to change for the program to progress.
The guys do a Roses and Thorns on the Klinsmann Era. Good news, there is hope for the future, #StanfordMessi and #TenaciousP and all.
The lads then go into the inevitable appointment of Bruce Arena. We discuss what the play for January Camp 2017 will be and what the team might look like for the rest of the Hexagonal.
Lastly, the boys talk about what the LA Galaxy should do with Arena leaving (hint: Sigi Schmidt). We also make predictions for leg one of the playoff games. Oh, and Dan totally tolls Matt over what's happening to the Galaxy.

What's up bretheren of the #KlinsmannOut movement? This week on Last Word SC Radio, we're talking all things MLS Cup Conference Finals and a bunch of news in the Round Table.
In segment one, Matt Pollard and Joe Hojnacki sit down with Dave Clark from Sounder At Heart. They talk about the run Seattle has been on and preview the first leg match against the Colorado Rapids. Dave gives his take on the Sounders attack. He gives a thumbs up to Brian Schmetzer becoming Seattle's new head coach. Lastly, he predicts an emphatic 2-0 victory for Seattle in the first leg.
In the second segment, Matt is joined by Charlie Clarke from Waking the Red. Charlie waxes poetic about Toronto FC dismantalling New York City FC. The two talk about the defense and Drew Moor's impact on the club. Charlie gives an interesting spin on TFC's attack and how Greg Vanney has made the 3-5-2 work. Lastly, he predicts a 1-1 draw in the first leg against the Montreal Impact.
In the round table, Matt almost loses his mind of #MLS2STL maybe becoming a thing. The boys break down everything in Saint Louis FC potentially joining MLS. They then talk about the USMNT's disasterous start in the CONCACAF Hexagonal. Joe is fully on team #KlinsmannOut. Matt tries to play Devil's Advocate. The two talk about how the US will probably be ok.
Matt and Joe then talk about old farts leaving their clubs and Atlanta United FC's new kit. Lastly, the guys talk about pet rocks and predict Tuesday's results.

This week's episode kicks off with a look at the legacy of Frank Lampard as he announces his departure from NYCFC. Season Ticket Holder and Third Rail member Tony Larsen joins the show to discuss that topic but also two NYCFC-ish events in NY from last week. First was a fundraiser for the South Bronx United with Jack Harrison and Jimmy Conrad. The second was a Third Rail end of season event with honorees David Villa, Andoni Iraola and guests Patrick Vieira and RJ Allen.
After the break Andy Maycraft (sorry Leah was busy insulting Mike Francessa on her own vblog) from A View from 226 joins us to discuss USAvMEX from Columbus.
The show closes with a little deeper dive into the shortlist of players fans have been throwing out as replacements for the departing DP.

What's up America? Enough election talk, time to talk about the start of the CONCACAF Hexagonal. This week on Last Word SC Radio, Matt Pollard and Joe Hojnacki are joined by John Bava.
In segment one, the boys sit down and talk about the Eastern Conference Playoff results. We discuss what the Montreal Impact and Toronto FC are doing so well. We break down what went wrong for the New York Red Bulls and New York City FC. The guys discuss what both New York teams need to change in the off season. Spoiler alert: The Red Bulls are in good shape the NYCFC needs some roster massages (defense especially).
In segment two, the guys do the same thing for the Western Conference. We talk about the Seattle Sounders rolling over FC Dallas and why Dallas is going to be just fine. We discuss (breifly) the not exciting LA Galaxy series with the Colorado Rapids. The guys spit ball ideas on what could change for LA in the off season. Matt's got a bunch of ideas (hint: Bastian Schweinsteiger), but there's a lot of uncertainty in Carson, CA right now.
In the Round Table, Matt and Joe question John on what the off season looks like for Columbus Crew. Then the guys dive fully into USA vs. Mexico. We discuss the current state of the U.S. Men's National Team roster and their players. They guys discuss formation and style of play. Lastly, we do predictions.

Part of NYCFC's identity is quickly becoming, when the expectations are at their highest, the team's performance is their lowest. Once again, the supporters were ready for a great fight from NYCFC and the team well flat.
